TRIGGS INTERNATIONAL PREMIUM VINIFERA LECTURE SERIES

Announcing the 5th Annual Triggs International Premium Vinifera Lecture Series at CCOVI. The speaker Dr. Daniel Roberts is from Integrated Winegrowing, California. The lecture series was created by Donald and Elaine Triggs to bring a leading international speaker to present a lecture on key issues related to premium vinifera. More information forthcoming.

BERRY SENSORY ANALYSIS AT BROCK UNIVERSITY

CCOVI is offering for the first time in Canada a Continuing Education Course on Berry Sensory Analysis. Dr. Gianni Trioli from Vinidea Italy will be the presenter for this seminar. The aim of the course is to train viticulturists and winemakers in the standardized BSA method for assessing grape maturity. For participants to fully understand the method and develop the necessary evaluation skills each step of the course will include a tasting of several berry samples.

WINE APPRECIATION I - EXPLORING VARIETALS (OEVI 0N01)

A special interest course focused on the tasting of wines from Canada and around the world. Learn and improve your skills and be able to distinguish among wine varietals such as Chardonnay, Riesling, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Cabernet. Participate in an exploration of the factors that affect wine quality.

WINE APPRECIATION II - EXPLORE WINE REGIONS OF THE WORLD (OEVI 0N03)

A special interest course designed to deepen and refine your wine tasting skills as well as exploring the major wine regions of the world. Discover wines from historic Old World regions as well as the emerging New World wine regions including South Africa and New Zealand. Prerequisite: Wine Appreciation I is preferable.

INTRODUCTION TO THE WINES OF ONTARIO (OEVI 0N02)

A special interest course focused on the wines of Ontario: how they are grown and made. Become familiar with VQA wines and the viticultural areas in which they are grown. Please note that this course includes the Wine Council of Ontario Certification.

CERTIFICATION PROGRAM IN WINE SALES AND SERVICE (OEVI 0N04)

Insight into the wine consumer, practice the dimensions of quality service and learn how to give professional presentations, work with others and resolve difficult interactions. Learn how to "sell" wine through a facilitation process rather than a "hard" sell. Please note this course includes the Wine Council of Ontario Excellence in Winery Sales & Service Certification.
