Sipos Location: Crown Bench Estates Winery, 3850 Aberdeen Road, Beamsville.
History: Crown Bench Estates Winery is owned and operated by Livia Sipos and her husband Peter Kocsis. Livia and her husband purchased the vineyard in 1995 and is one of the oldest planted vineyards on the Beamsville Bench.
Grape Varieties Planted: Many varieties including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Vidal.
Farming Philosophy: Livia believes that in order to produce good wines, you must start with good grapes. At the core of Livia's viticulture and winery philosophy is quality. Crown Bench Estates corporate mission states that "if you combine the very best in terrain, viticulture practices, oenological stewardship and administration, the pillars of a quality winery will have been established. In order to make great wine you must have quality grapes - there is no substitute."
Awards: Crown Bench Estates Winery now produces some of the finest wines in the world, having garnered International Gold and Silver medals as well as local recognition. In addition to their premium wines, they have innovated Gold Medal winning products such as Livia's Gold, Ambrosia Chocolate Flavoured Icewine and Hot Ice which are not found at any other winery. |
