2015 Ontario Wine Awards

The Ontario Wine Awards has been recognizing Ontario's finest VQA wines since 1995.  This year's event, held at Queen's Landing, Niagara-on-the-Lake on Friday, May 8th was hosted by Chef John Higgins, Director of George Brown Chef School in Toronto.

The awards recognize 25 different categories of wines at Bronze, Silver and Gold Medal levels.  Grape Growers of Ontario is a proud sponsor of the Ontario Wine Awards and congratulates all of the award winners.

Distinctive honours are awarded as follows:
Red Wine of the Year -Pillitteri Estates 2010 Riserva Famiglia Cabernet Franc
White Wine of the Year - Peller Estates 2013 AP Signature Series Sauvignon Blanc
Winemaker of the Year -Emma Garner, Thirty Bench Wine Makers recognizing the winemaker's consistent quality production across her portfolio, successes as demonstrated by additional wine awards, and overall contribution to the wine industry
Wine Journalism Award -Evan Saviolidis for his article, Back Again, published in the July/August 2014 issue of Quench Magazine
