Best Practices for Bird Bangers

December 1, 2015

This is a reminder that the principle for best management practices for bird bangers is that their only use is to protect bearing, marketable grapes from bird predation. The number of bird bangers operated should be appropriate for the amount of bird pressure present. Unnecessary or malicious use for any other purpose will not be tolerated and action from the Normal Farm Practices Board may be taken. It is also important to note that those growers using bird bangers during Icewine season must adjust their bird bangers to their environment. This means increasing set back distances from neighbours and decreasing decibel level.
