“Between the Lines Winery is extremely grateful to have our 2013 Pinot Noir selected as the official Red Wine served and sold at Queen’s Park for 2016. Being the first generation of an immigrant family, my brother Yannick and I are proud of our roots as grape growers and the success we’ve seen as winemakers. We are truly humbled by this distinction and we wish to thank the Grape Growers of Ontario as well as the Ontario Government for this opportunity,” said Greg Wertsch, Owner, Between the Lines Winery.

“Southbrook Vineyards is thrilled to have our Connect Organic White chosen by Ontario's Legislative Assembly to share with their guests. The Redelmeier Family and winemaker Ann Sperling would like to thank the community of Niagara organic grape growers, with whom we collaborate to create this wine. Connect Organic White is Southbrook's initiative to create a market opportunity for Ontario growers who would like to manage their vineyards to the highest environmental standards, and we are proud to share it with our fellow citizens,” said Paul DeCampo, Director of Marketing and Sales at Southbrook Vineyards.

Members of Provincial Parliament gathered to select the Legislative Assembly of Ontario’s official red and white VQA wine to be served at legislative functions throughout 2016. Participants tasted and marked their preferences on a voting ballot to determine which wines would be selected from five Ontario wineries. The Grape Growers of Ontario thank the Honourable Speaker Dave Levac and look forward to continuing the tradition of the Legislative Wine Tasting with him in the future.

The Grape Growers of Ontario is the official organization that represents over 500 actively producing grape growers of 17,000 acres in the province’s three viticulture areas: Niagara Peninsula, Lake Erie North Shore and Prince Edward County, and the emerging Norfolk County.
